01 // A Philosophy of Reiki Guided by Human Qualities
XunKun Reiki is a philosophical approach to Usui Reiki Ryōhō, inspired by many years of studying the I Ching.
It does not replace or alter traditional Reiki. Rather, it offers a contemplative framework that guides the practitioner's intention throughout each Reiki treatment. If the recipient is open to it, the I Ching cards or app may be used as a complementary contemplative tool.
Within XunKun Reiki, the sixty-four hexagrams of the I Ching are understood as sixty-four archetypal human qualities. They are approached not as instruments of prediction or divination, but as symbols for reflection, self-awareness, and personal growth.
The Central Principle
Every Reiki treatment is guided by the human quality that emerges as most relevant to the present moment.
Within XunKun Reiki, Reiki is understood as the practice of channelling universal life energy.
The human quality that emerges provides a contemplative focus, gently guiding the practitioner's intention throughout the treatment.
In this way, Reiki remains the practice through which universal life energy is channelled, while the I Ching offers a symbolic language of human qualities through which intention is shaped.
