02 // The dialectic of the threshold
What does it mean?
Delving into the nature of matters should invite natural deep thinkers into a deep thinking mindset. This is certainly the case for me—but I'm not merely contemplative; I live through these experiences as well.
The threshold is that precise moment of high tension between motionless restraint and pure kinetic motion. It is the paradox of choice versus peace: to speak or stay silent; to act or not to act.
This is the in-between where human agency, fate, and philosophy collide. It is that moment when one decision can change the entire course of actions, as we strive to achieve the most effective response to a specific situation.
However, the most effective response might not always match the desired outcome, since action depends solely on the individual, and the reaction of the outside world remains beyond their influence.
This leaves me with the conclusion that the 'effective response' serves only to change the environment and protect one's own sovereignty.
